Ingredients

4 Golden Delicious apples Peeled
1 cup Sugar
1/3 cup Vegetable oil
2 Eggs
Dry ingredients:
2 cups Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 teaspoon Cinnnamon
1½ cups Raisins To make it more festive and decadent, add ½ cup raisins, ½ cup dry cranberries, 1/2 cup roughly chopped pecans and 1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips. You can add or combine any nuts, dry fruits or berries you like, for example, dry cherries, or dry currants, etc.

      Baking this pie is simply therapeutic – it fills your house with the smell of cinnamon and apples, and gives you a sense of comfort and warmth. I hope you enjoy it as we do!

      Preheat oven to 375 degree F. Grease 9 x 11 inches baking dish with butter.

      Peel and slice apples and cut slices in half. Combine apples with sugar in a mixing bowl and let stand for about 15 minutes.

      Beat eggs and oil slightly and add to sugar mixture.

      Combine dry ingredients and add them to apple mixture. Mix well. Stir in any dry fruits, nuts and chocolate chips, if using.

      Pour mixture into creased baking dish. Bake for 35-40 minutes and test with the toothpick – it has to come out clean and dry.
